Trading mechanics
Each symbol has defined sessions, and normal hours may change for public holidays, maintenance, or the underlying market schedule.
Platform session times are tied to the trading server rather than necessarily matching the local clock on a device. MetaTrader 5 displays the configured sessions in the symbol specification. Convert them carefully when planning around another timezone or a daylight-saving change.
Some instruments include daily pauses and special holiday hours. A closed session can prevent an order from being processed until the market reopens, when the available price may be different. Check platform notices and the current symbol schedule instead of assuming a weekday market is continuously available.
