Start with the behaviour of each market category, then check the live symbol specification in MetaTrader 5 before making a trading decision.
Currency pairs, precious metals, equity indices, and commodities react to different economic releases, trading sessions, and supply-and-demand factors. A symbol name alone does not describe its hours, contract size, margin requirement, or trading cost, so those details need to be read together.
MetaTrader 5 provides a specification for each available symbol. That specification is the place to review contract size, currencies, volume limits, swap information, and session times for the account being used. Website examples are deliberately avoided because conditions can differ by symbol and account.
